Japanese Meatballs (Nikudango)

This was one of my favorite lunch box menus when I was a kid. I still love it!

meatballs

(Meatballs ingredients)
ground pork 1/2 pound
ground beef 1/2 pound
2 medium cloves garlic minced
1 tablespoons grated ginger
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 tablespoons flour

(Sauce ingredients)
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons sake
2 tablespoons rice vinegar

#1 tablespoon cornstarch
#2 tablespoons water

Olive oil

<How to cook>
1.Mix together all the ingredients for the meatballs in a bowl. Knead the mixture until the ingredients are well combined.
2. Take about 1 or 2 tablespoons of the mixture, and mold it into a ball.
3. Heat a thin layer of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, and add the meatballs and cook them about 7 minutes. (flip them around every 1 or 2 minute)
4. Wipe off all the excess oil from the pan with paper towel.
5. Mix the sauce ingredients in a small bowl, and pour it into the pan(low heat). Move the meatballs around about 3 minutes.
6. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, and add it into the pan (low heat). Move the meatballs around until they are all covered with the sauce.
